IT Manager

Abdul oversees ZettaJoule’s U.S. IT operations and provides governance and support for technology platforms used by the company’s staff in Japan. He leads the design and management of enterprise infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, well-documented and compliant with corporate and regulatory standards. 

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Abdul also manages multi-region cloud architecture, U.S.–Japan connectivity, infrastructure as code, DevOps automation, and the performance of business-critical systems in a highly regulated environment.

Most notably

Abdul has led cloud transformation initiatives that reduced enterprise cloud costs by approximately 40% while improving performance, scalability, and reliability. He received a Special Recognition Award for developing the Cessation of Production Tool at ConocoPhillips, which helped prevent oil and gas lease losses due to production interruptions, protecting millions of dollars in company assets.

He co-founded Upstream Inspections, LLC, architecting its technology platform from the ground up. The company generated more than $13 million in revenue through cloud-based inspection and workflow solutions that he helped design and build.

Throughout his career, Abdul has been recognized for combining deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, consistently delivering innovative technology solutions that solve complex business challenges and create measurable business value.

He spent more than 13 years at ConocoPhillips, advancing from Senior Solution Integrator to Solutions Architect and ultimately Senior Cloud Engineer. During his tenure, he developed enterprise applications, analytics platforms and business intelligence solutions and led large-scale cloud transformation initiatives using Azure and AWS. His accomplishments included reducing cloud costs by 40%, implementing cloud governance and security frameworks, modernizing data integration platforms, and delivering award-winning systems that helped protect millions of dollars in company assets. He also developed AI-enabled solutions that improved operational efficiency for multiple business units.

Abdul began his career at Dynegy as an Associate Developer/Analyst, developing and maintaining enterprise applications before moving to JPMorgan Chase, where he supported mission-critical investment banking applications.

He later joined NRG Energy as a Systems Analyst, working with production and analytics platforms for retail energy operations.

Education

Abdul earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.

He is an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and has completed Databricks Fundamentals accreditation.

Outside of work, Abdul enjoys fishing, traveling, gardening, working on DIY projects at home and spending time with his wife and three kids.

He also practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, holding the rank of a first-degree purple belt, and continues to train to advance his skills.
